Dystonia Medical Research Foundation

Winter 2024 E-Newsletter

DMRF Canada aimed to create an engaging Winter 2024 E-Newsletter to showcase the organizations achievements and foster donor and community involvement. The newsletter needed to highlight accomplishments, recap past events, promote ways to support the foundation, and share information about ongoing research studies relevant to those affected by dystonia.

To achieve this, I drafted and designed the newsletter using a clear, visually appealing layout. I ensured the content aligned with the foundation's mission, emphasizing key milestones and impact stories from the year. Additionally, I included actionable links and calls to action to encourage donations, event participation and study enrollment. The final product will engage the audience, enhance awareness of the foundations work, and reinforce community ties while driving support for future initiatives.

Freedom To Move Sponsorship Package

October - December 2024

DMRF Canada wanted to strengthen the sponsorship document used to bring in both corporate and community partners for its flagship event, Freedom to Move. The goal was to clearly communicate the event’s purpose and align it with the foundation’s mission of improving the lives of those affected by dystonia.

To achieve this, I analyzed example sponsorship documents and DMRF Canada’s existing materials. I refined the content by highlighting the foundation’s mission, explaining what dystonia is, outlining the event’s purpose and audience, and emphasizing why DMRF Canada needs support. The final package effectively communicated the value of sponsorship opportunities, showcasing mutual benefits for partners and positioning Freedom to Move as an impactful way for organizations to support a meaningful cause while building connections with DMRF Canada.

Case For Support

September - October 2024

DMRF Canada recognized a need to create a compelling case for support to communicate its mission more effectively and inspire greater community engagement. As a foundation dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by dystonia, DMRF Canada required a structured approach to connect with supporters in a meaningful way. By clearly presenting the significance of dystonia research, patient support initiatives, and advocacy efforts, DMRF Canada aimed to enhance donor relations and build a sustained support base.

In developing this case for support, I began by thoroughly reviewing the documentation provided, focusing on the foundation’s mission, vision, and emotional impact. I identified key elements such as the foundation’s programs,  history, achievements, financial need, and support opportunities. From there, I crafted a narrative that emphasized DMRF Canada’s impact, showcasing real and potential outcomes made possible through donor contributions. My approach focused on using language that was both supportive and motivational, fostering empathy and connection without overwhelming the audience. This process ensured the case for support was authentic, engaging, and effective in driving sustained financial commitment to DMRF Canada’s initiatives.
